Alcohol Toolkit

Education & Awareness

This underage drinking prevention toolkit is designed to raise awareness and provide educational materials that highlight the serious risks alcohol poses to the developing teen brain. Because adolescents produce more dopamine, they are especially vulnerable to quickly progressing from liking alcohol to craving it, as it hijacks the brain’s natural reward system. Alcohol use during this critical stage can disrupt brain development, affecting memory, learning, emotional control, and decision-making. Binge drinking—common among teens—increases these risks, often leading to dangerous consequences.

This section of the toolkit offers resources for groups to implement within their own coalitions and the communities they serve.
